New Season Pieces To Level Up Your Winter Style

Lately, it’s been especially challenging to get dressed given Minnesota’s winter chill. I just want to live in a cozy sweatshirt and leggings. However, all the new styles that just dropped at Nordstrom are convincing me otherwise. I’m realizing that there’s so much to be excited about from novelty jackets to cool, edgy footwear. Since Nordstrom carries such a wonderful mix of high and low, you can easily uncover fresh, forward and versatile pieces at any price point. If you’ve been feeling at a loss for what to wear or what to buy, remember that it only takes few pieces to spark that inspiration. Ahead, I’m sharing the new season styles that will transform your wardrobe.
Shearling Biker Jacket
You guys know I live for shearling biker jackets and have sported them as soon as they emerged on the street style scene years ago. Since then, I always add one or two new pieces to my collection every year. I just love the instant cool factor they deliver. They get me in the mood to get dressed and go out no matter how bad of a style rut I’m in. This season’s version is all about a cropped silhouette. Nordstrom has you covered on that front with tons of great pieces under $200.
Chic Neutrals
If you want to level up your winter style with little effort, look to chic neutrals. Not only are the colors universally flattering but they can be mixed and matched with ease. Naked Wardrobe is quickly becoming my favorite brand for chic neutral basics that coordinate with everything – and Nordstrom carries a huge selection that’s worth scoping out.

Novelty Handbag
A unique bag is a great way to switch up your look. This year is all about cool shapes and unexpected textures. Since I tend to gravitate towards the same classic styles, like totes and crossbody bags, I really wanted to change things up, starting with this Saint Laurent backpack. It’s great for keeping your hands free and I love how the chain straps keep the bag closed when carried.

Platform Shoes
If there’s one trend that I know will blow up this year, it’s platform shoes. I’m seeing them across boots, mary jane pumps, loafers and everything else. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them at first, but I’m loving the extra lift in winter boots. That explains why I’ve been wearing these Prada combat boots non-stop. I just love how they take an outfit from zero to 100 every time.
